Maps and action plans for noise policy
The European Directive relating to the assessment and management of environmental noise focuses principally on establishing, managing and, if necessary and desirable, reducing noise levels in the environment. The heart of this directive is informing the public and preparing action plans. DGMR calculates noise maps which may be used as a basis for setting up a local noise policy, but can also be used for aspects of urban and rural planning. Other than that, the data of the noise map can expedite the mapping of the air quality and outdoor safety.
